Are you ready to visit a new country? Maybe you want to learn a new language? Do you love to read, write and do research? It's time for some detective work! Follow our 6 step plan to get started.
What questions do you have about our world that you really would like to know more about? Write them down.
Where can you find information about different countries or languages spoken? What are you passionate about? What are you worried about? Is there a challenge you would like to work towards solving?
What did you find out? Would you like to learn about another country by trying a new recipe? Maybe you would like to learn a new language? Maybe you want to learn more about how you can pair up with a new friend from a different city? Decide on one thing you would like to start with.
Let's say you decided on making a recipe from Italy, because you would like to learn how to make pasta. You would also like to learn about the children who live in Italy and maybe find a new friend from that country. Your first step is to make the recipe. Try it out and see what kind of questions come up for you. Write them down.
Now that you have made the recipe, how can you do the research to figure out how to meet another student, your age from Italy? Make a plan. Maybe you could ask your teacher if your class could meet a class from Italy. Maybe you could organize an "Italy Day" with your school? Write down all the ideas you have that will help you to get more involved in your community.
Document your journey. Write down everything that you thought was important. What did you struggle with? Write this down as well. Maybe now you can write a book about your adventures, learn Italian, learn a new recipe or choose a different country!
