When I first started Little Chewz, I was giving cooking classes in my community. I believe that food brings families together. The original characters, a spoon and fork, represented family strength, as families gather together at meal time. I love to see families (and classrooms) come together, whether it is to read, cook, do crafts or get outdoors.
Yes! "Little Chewz Celebrates Halloween" will be released Halloween 2025. I am also working on a travel series as well as adding more holidays and seasons to our celebrate series.
I love chocolate! I love to mix all sorts of things into my chocolate. In our house, we call it "the mix up"! But my ultimate favorites are chocolate covered gummy bears and chocolate cake with icing.
You may have noticed that our first book looks a little different from our new one. Although I absolutely love painting, in fact my grandmother was a very talented artist, my nephew illustrated the first copy. For our new book, I am working with a wonderful up and coming artist and friend.
No! Our children's books are for our younger audience, but our older fans love trying out our activities and recipes too. They have even taken on a leadership role to read our books to the little ones and create the recipes together. I also published a book for parents and teachers titled "Chatter Box: Tools To Quiet Your Mind", you can find that here and our soon to be published book titled "The Art of Grandma" which will take a multigenerational approach to learning about food and heritage. Stay tuned, more adventures for the Little Chewz cutlery family awaits!
I love it! I am a full time French immersion teacher as well. I love spending my days writing songs, stories, creating videos, building activities and teaching students how to read and write. I always carry my phone or a note pad with me because I never know when inspiration will strike! One of my favorite things to do is coach. I love to show students, teachers and families fun ways to create meaningful experiences.
Our books are currently being sold on Amazon. Our new book is available online at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Google Reads and Amazon. However, if you order directly through our website, I will ship you a signed copy.
The archetypes are based on my book: "Chatter Box TOOLS to quiet your mind". It's about theme based hands-on learning, meeting students where they are and integrating their learning in all other subjects. The archetypes have been very popular. I will also be publishing a Chatter Box book just for kids in the future.
What is dear to my heart are animals, children, and seniors. It’s impossible to choose just one, as they are all deeply special and intricately connected. We are all part of a larger web of life, and there is so much we can learn from one another. The stories shared across generations hold wisdom that can inspire and guide our children. The beautiful habitats and the animals that call them home are our shared responsibility to protect. For a sustainable future, we must continue to share our stories, nurture these connections, and take meaningful steps toward change. Only then can we ensure that these treasures—our people, stories, and natural world—are preserved for generations to come.
I am thrilled about my current project! I am pursuing my Master’s degree at the University of Calgary and have partnered with the Tamarack Institute to create The Calgary Food Storytelling Initiative. This initiative focuses on reconnecting communities through the power of intergenerational food and storytelling. It has also inspired my first cookbook, The Art of Grandma, which is currently in development. You can find more details here.
In addition to this, I am passionate about traveling, gathering stories, and creating recipes alongside children and their families from around the world. There is so much in store for Little Chewz, and I am excited to see these plans come to life!
